Fidgeting, an innate human behavior often linked to self-comfort, is the inspiration behind Luminous Solace, an innovative interactive experience. This project harnesses the simplicity of fidgeting, an act we've engaged in since childhood, to transform the fundamental elements of color and light. These elements profoundly influence our perceptions, emotions, mood, and the ambiance of our surroundings. Luminous Solace offers a unique opportunity to interact with light and color therapeutically and poetically.

Luminous Solace is an interactive chromatic light, that invites users to discover the calming effects of fidgeting motions combined with the play of light and colors. This experience is facilitated by a tactile fidgeting device, equipped with various textures and touch-sensitive switches for engaging haptic feedback. The interaction between the device and the light, featuring a convex diffusor, creates a dynamic array of colors that respond to different fidgeting actions. These actions are identified through gyro and motion sensors integrated with tinyML on Arduino, enabling a nuanced recognition of various fidgeting patterns.  

The true magic unfolds as users caress and manipulate the fidget device. These continuous movements intricately influence the animated generative graphics properties – shifting its hues, patterns, dimensions, and overall composition. These changes extend beyond the device, casting a transformative glow that envelops the surrounding space. This interaction not only alters the visual experience but also creates an atmosphere of emotional well-being and peace. The blend of tactile engagement and visual stimulation offered by Luminous Solace fosters a serene environment, promoting a sense of balance and calm.
